Biography

Mr. Hedeen’s practice focuses on construction and government contract law and general civil litigation. Arne represents owners, prime contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers, as well as construction industry trade associations.  He is coauthor of the AGC of Washington Lien and Bond Claim Handbook and the Construction Lien Section of the Washington Real Property Deskbook.  Arne has been recognized as a Washington Super Lawyer for many years, been listed as a Seattle Top Lawyer by Seattle Met Magazine and is a past Chair of the Construction Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association, and a panel member of the American Arbitration Association.  He is a frequent speaker for several contractor groups including the Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington, Washington Cities Insurance Authority, Washington Asphalt Paving Association, Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau, and the Associated General Contractors of Washington.

Before joining Schlemlein Fick & Franklin, Arne practiced law in his own firm at Hedeen & Caditz PLLC for 22 years.  Prior to that he was a partner at Schwabe Williamson Ferguson & Burdell, and at Ferguson & Burdell.

Arne is a licensed pilot and enjoys taking his Cessna to the skies whenever he can.  He also enjoys boating, skiing and hunting in his free time.
