Michael Scruggs has been diligently and successfully representing clients in the Northwest for over two decades. Michael’s broad range of experience includes litigation on behalf of companies and individuals in the areas of business, insurance, real estate, contracts, construction, personal injury, shareholder and LLC member disputes, as well as many other areas. In addition to his litigation and trial experience, Mr. Scruggs regularly handles transactional matters such as business purchase and sale agreements, real estate transactions, business entity formations, contracts, leases, etc.

Mr. Scruggs has successfully litigated a wide and diverse range of cases, including a recent shopping mall lease dispute against a major national retail chain, the Pang warehouse fire insurance coverage litigation, a multi-million dollar wrongful death action involving Washington’s largest public utility district, the Tent City 4 encampment dispute, and TEDRA matters involving distribution of partnership property. He has represented sellers in the sale of buildings located in the heart of downtown Seattle, assisted developers in purchasing and developing suburban land and represented numerous clients in the purchase and sale of businesses ranging from marine electronics products to veterinary practices. Mr. Scruggs also regularly serves as arbitrator appointed by King County and other Superior Courts throughout the State of Washington.

Michael played music professionally full time from 1979 through 1986 while completing his undergraduate degree. (Yes, even though he’s a drummer, he still considers himself a musician). From old time rock and roll to jazz, you will still find him playing drums occasionally throughout the Northwest with The Great Pretenders and various other local acts and musical productions.
